Global Collaboration Takes Centre Stage
Insights from the 2024 Alliott Global Worldwide Conference
Baumgartners representatives David Baumgartner and Alex Vrahos joined over 140 accountants and lawyers from 37 countries in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2024 Alliott Global Alliance Worldwide Conference this month. This flagship event brought together professionals to explore innovative strategies, share insights and strengthen global connections.
Key Challenges in Focus: Talent, Technology and Sustainability
The conference addressed some of the most pressing issues facing mid-sized professional firms, including talent retention, technology innovation and the responsible use of generative AI. Attendees were also challenged to adopt a global growth mindset and explore leadership opportunities in sustainability consulting.
Fredrik Härén, the renowned "Creativity Explorer," delivered a keynote on how to ignite innovation. Other standout speakers included Chun Wee Chiew of ACCA, psychologist Dr. Katherine Hunt, and international marketing strategist Ross Fishman. Each offered unique perspectives on fostering resilience and adaptability in a rapidly changing professional landscape.
Embracing Global Collaboration
From workshops to keynote speeches, the conference delivered an agenda designed to equip member firms with actionable insights, from know-your-customer anti-money laundering updates to strategies for leveraging the alliance in competitive cross-border collaboration.
Alex Vrahos, Partner at Baumgartners said, "A key outcome of the conference was strengthening new and existing relationships with member firms that will enable better streamlined accounting and legal solutions for our both our inbound and outbound clients internationally.”
“Furthermore, hearing how firms are leveraging digital tools to connect with international markets has inspired us to think differently about how we approach professional relationships."
The event wasn’t just about business — it also celebrated the vibrant culture of Vietnam. Delegates immersed themselves in the local traditions and history, which underscored the value of understanding cultural contexts when working internationally.
